Still confused with Cloud Computing???

Cloud is becoming trending topic and technology which can be simply defined as…

Operating systems, Database, Applications and Virtual datacenters Infrastructure delivered on demand over the internet on pay-for use basis which reduces traditional cost and ownership can be termed as Cloud Computing.

Cloud Computing Services can be further elaborated in three types.

·        Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)  Virtualized Servers (including storage and network) running at a service provider instead of in your company’s own datacenter.
Example include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Rackspace, and VMware vCloud providers.

·        Platform as a Service (PaaS)  Application developers can get their application and database available to the world even faster than ever before.
Examples of PaaS include Microsoft Azure and VMware CloudFoundry.

·        Software as a Service (SaaS) — We all are using this service in our daily life. Software that used to be running on your local computer now runs at a service provider and you use it over the Internet.
Examples include Gmail.com and Dropbox.com — even Facebook could be a type of SaaS.

Let us understand the serving of all this Models.

If you notice the responsibilities of Cloud Provider is more in SaaS when compared with Iaas and Paas.

Hope this was informative in our next post will walkthrough VMware vCloud
